General

The iPhone 4S may be the phone of the moment, however the Galaxy Nexus is set for release in the near future and in many ways is far superior to the latest Apple device.

Strength

The iPhone 4S is certainly a great phone, however the amount of people who end up with broken backs on the glass exterior is quite high. The Galaxy Nexus has an attractive plastic back, which is also very sturdy and strong and doesn’t suffer from the same frailties. The Galaxy Nexus is also a very attractive device and is a slim phone with a number of nice aesthetic features.

Display

The Galaxy Nexus has a 4.65inch screen of the AMOLED variety and though it may be too large for some, it does look fantastic. The size of the screen means it is great for watching images on, as well as for browsing on. It even comes with a slightly curved screen, which the iPhone 5 was rumoured to have. This screen may not just be a retina display, however it is fantastic.

4G

The iPhone may have a new 3G HSDPA connection with a 14.4MBPS connection speed, however the Galaxy Nexus comes with a full 4G LTE set up. This means it is far faster at downloading apps, games and anything else than the iPhone and is perfect as a mobile hotspot as it delivers speeds well in excess of your own home broadband. The only problem is currently 4G is not available in the UK, though will be in the near future. O2 is currently undertaking large scale 4G trials across London, and so people making use of O2 phone deals will be the first to be able to use the new 4G features of the Galaxy Nexus.

Google

The phone comes with an integrated Google experience. With Google coming up with a number of new innovations as the time goes by, the chance of Google+ becoming a hugely popular social media system and the fact Gmail and Android phone contracts are of such strength there is no doubt this can’t be seen as a huge advantage.

Others

The phone also comes with a number of other features such as Google Navigation with free turn by turn spoken directions. This is a costly app on Android. The phone also comes with a new and improved Google Voice, which though not as good as Siri is improved.

NFC technology, which allows users to pay for goods through their phone is also included and means the phone has another feature Apple’s don’t.

So, as is clear the Galaxy Nexus offers a number of features which iPhone can’t compare.
